It’s truck month! This month Yaklin Ford is highlight some of our top trucks showing you how they stand out among competition. If you’re looking for a truck that provides top performance, durability, power and a sleek exterior, the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor should be on your list! Today the Dodge Ram 1500 tries out outmatch the Raptor but falls short. See how the Raptor in Richwood trumps the Ram 1500.
The Raptor is big but safety is bigger! The F-150 Raptor comes with an optional collision warning system that detects an impending crash through forward sensors and alerts the driver with a bright light and sound to warn them to brake or maneuver to avoid the collision. It also pre-charges the brakes to start decelerating. The Ram 1500 does not offer a collision warning system.
To easily back into tight spaces, the Raptor offers a 360-Degree Camera so the driver can see objects all around. The Ram 1500 only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that doesn’t help with objects to the side.
The Ford F-150 Raptor 3.5 turbo V6 produces 450 horsepower and 510 pounds per feet torque. The Ram 1550 5.7 V8 produces 395 horsepower and 410 pounds per feet torque. For better traction, the F-150 Raptor’s tires are larger than the largest available on the Ram 1500 (315/70R17 vs. 285/45R22).
To make off-roading easy, the F-150 Raptor SuperCab’s minimum ground clearance is higher than the Rams. If you lock yourself out of the Raptor or want to leave the keys in when working, use an available exterior keypad to get back in. The Ram 1500 does not offer an exterior keypad entry system.
